About this course

Getting ready for LPIC-1 exam 102-500? These four practice tests let you check what you know before exam day - and, more importantly, show you why. Every question has four options, and every option is explained: why the right answer is right, and why each wrong one is wrong.

So a missed question turns into a short lesson rather than a mystery. What's insideTest 1 - Shells, Desktops and Administrative Tasks (topics 105-107, 50 questions): environment files, Bash functions and scripts, X11 and remote displays, accessibility, users and groups, cron, at and systemd timers, locales and time zones. Test 2 - Essential System Services and Networking (topics 108-109, 50 questions): time and NTP, rsyslog and the systemd journal, logrotate, mail aliases and forwarding, CUPS printing, subnets and ports, NetworkManager, iproute2 troubleshooting and client-side DNS.

Test 3 - Security, plus a Second Pass (topic 110 and harder questions from 105-109, 50 questions): SUID audits, sudo, limits, TCP wrappers, OpenSSH keys and tunnels, GnuPG encryption and signatures. Test 4 - Full Mock Exam (50 questions, timed): mixed questions weighted like the published exam objectives. Every question names the public LPI exam objective it practises (for example, "107.

2 Automate system administration tasks by scheduling jobs"), so you can see at a glance which objectives need more work. The questions are written from the public LPI objectives for exam 102-500 (objectives version 5. 0).

They are original practice questions, not copies of exam questions. The real exam (60 questions, 90 minutes) also has fill-in-the-blank questions, which these multiple-choice tests can't reproduce; where it helps, the explanations name the exact command or file you'd type. Before you start: take the topic tests first, read the explanations for anything you missed, and save Test 4 for when you feel ready.

Aim for a steady 70% or more before you book the exam. LPIC-1 and LPI are trademarks of the Linux Professional Institute. This course is independent and isn't endorsed by or affiliated with LPI.

LPIC-1 Exam 101-500 Practice Tests: 200 Questions Explained

Vitalii Shumylo

Booked your LPIC-1 101 exam, or thinking about it? Then you'll want to know two things: which objectives you already own, and which ones still trip you up. That's what these practice tests are for.You get four tests with 50 questions each, written for the current LPIC-1 exam 101-500 (objectives version 5.0):Test 1 - System Architecture, Installation and Package Management (topics 101 and 102): hardware and the kernel's view of it, the boot process, systemd targets, disk layout, GRUB 2, shared libraries, dpkg and apt, rpm and dnf/yum, and Linux as a virtual machine or cloud guest.Test 2 - GNU and Unix Commands (topic 103): the shell, text filters, file management, redirection and pipes, processes and priorities, regular expressions and vi.Test 3 - Devices, Filesystems and the FHS (topic 104): partitions and filesystems, fsck and friends, mounting and /etc/fstab, permissions and special bits, links, and finding files the right way.Test 4 - Full mock exam: 50 mixed questions across all objectives, weighted like the real exam, with a time limit, so you can check your pace before the day.Every question tells you why the right answer is right and why each wrong answer is wrong. That second part is where most of the learning happens: you see the exact option or file you mixed up, and why it doesn't do what you thought. Each question also names the public LPI objective it tests (for example "103.4 Use streams, pipes and redirects"), so a weak score points you straight at the objective to revise. The questions are practical. You're the admin: a server won't boot to the right target, a package owns a file you need, a script's output has to go to a log, a shared directory needs the right bits. You pick the command or file that does the job.A word on what these tests are not. They're original questions written for this course. They aren't questions from the real exam, and they don't promise any score on it. The real exam (60 questions, 90 minutes) also has fill-in-the-blank questions, which these multiple-choice tests can't reproduce, so practise typing commands and file paths from memory as well. When you're getting 80% or more on all four tests, and you understand the explanations of the ones you missed, you're in a good place to book the exam. This course is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Linux Professional Institute (LPI).

AZ-802 Administering Windows Server: 200 Practice Questions

Vitalii Shumylo

You have booked AZ-802, or you are about to. AZ-800 and AZ-801 retired on 30 September 2026, so this one exam is now the way to Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator Associate. The question is simple: are you ready? These practice tests help you answer it. There are four tests, 50 questions each - 200 in total - written from Microsoft's public skills outline for AZ-802. Every question is tied to one objective from that outline, so when you get one wrong, you know exactly what to revise. What makes the explanations usefulEach answer tells you why the right option is right and why each wrong option is wrong. The wrong options are where most of the learning is: they are real features, cmdlets and settings that an administrator could easily pick by mistake. How the tests are builtTest 1 - AD DS and hybrid management: domain controllers, RODCs, FSMO roles, sites, replication, trusts, service accounts, Group Policy, Windows Admin Center, PowerShell remoting and JEA, SSH, Remote Desktop, Azure Arc, Azure Update Manager and Automation runbooks.Test 2 - Virtual machines, networking and security: Hyper-V hosts and guests, Azure VMs, DNS and DHCP on-premises and hybrid, and securing Windows Server and AD DS - Windows LAPS, App Control for Windows, Credential Guard, exploit protection, password policies, Protected Users and more.Test 3 - Storage, monitoring and troubleshooting: Azure Files and Azure File Sync, SMB and SMB over QUIC, FSRM, DFS, Storage Spaces Direct, Storage Replica, BitLocker, Performance Monitor, System Insights, Azure Monitor, and troubleshooting Windows Server and Active Directory.Test 4 - Full mock exam: 50 mixed questions, weighted like the official skills outline, timed at 120 minutes like the real exam.Questions use single-answer and "choose two" formats. "Choose two" is always stated in the question.Versions: Windows Server 2025 (2022 where a question says so), Windows PowerShell 5.1 and PowerShell 7, and Azure services as they stand in October 2026. The answers were checked against Microsoft's documentation in October 2026.Please note: these are original questions written by an instructor. They are not exam questions and do not come from the exam. This course is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft.

GRID Exam Prep: GIAC Response and Industrial Defense #2

Adrian Găitan

The second time you see a question, you are often recalling the answer rather than reasoning to it. That is the single biggest weakness of practicing on one question bank, and it is why scores on a re-sit look better than exam day does. This is Volume 2. Five more timed practice tests, 430 new questions, nothing carried over from Volume 1.Same scope, same difficulty, different questionsCoverage follows the same seven GRID objectives at the same weighting, so your score here is directly comparable to your Volume 1 score. If your Volume 1 result was real understanding, it holds. If it was memory, this set will say so quickly.Every question is single-best-answer, matching GIAC's format, and every question is followed by an explanation that names the reasoning, the failed distractor and the objective area to revisit. What the questions coverActive defense as GIAC defines it, and what the major ICS incidents changed about defensive postureDetection and analysis of network security evidence inside an industrial environmentAsset awareness and visibility where active scanning is restricted or forbiddenMonitoring against real protocol behavior: Modbus function codes, DNP3, OPC UA security modes, S7 COTP parameters, IEC 104 and EtherNet/IP CIP servicesIncident response and forensics on controllers, engineering workstations and historians, with safety and uptime as hard constraintsThreat hunting, hypothesis building and malware analysis applied to OT toolingThreat intelligence, from consuming a report to shipping a detectionHow to work through itTake one test per study session under real time pressure. Score it, then read every explanation, including on the questions you answered correctly, because a correct guess and a correct answer look identical on a score report and nowhere else. Track which of the seven objectives your misses cluster in. Study that objective, then move to the next test.Across both volumes that gives you ten full timed sittings and 860 questions, which is enough repetition that exam format, pacing and question phrasing stop costing you points and the only thing being tested is what you actually know. Please note: this is an independently produced preparation course. It is not affiliated with, authorized by, endorsed by or sponsored by GIAC or the SANS Institute. All questions are original study material, not actual exam items. Confirm the current number of questions, time limit, passing score and permitted materials for your specific attempt in your own GIAC account before exam day.
